This is so far the earliest Neolithic culture discovered in Zhejiang, between 8, 400 and 11, 400 year ago from now, named after its initial excavation site. It yielded numbers of still the immature yet the earliest known potteries in Zhejiang. Furthermore, traces of rice crusts and leaves were also found among the pieces of some charcoal-mixed pottery, proving evidence for the origination of rice planting. The elements of this culture, including pottery techniques, had been taken and developed by many prehistoric cultures, including Hemudu. (According to Zhejiang Museum)
