RM2PJKJYH–SMS Sachsen, das führende Schiff ihrer Klasse von vier Eisenkämmen der Deutschen Kaiserlichen Marine. Ihre Schwestern waren Bayern, Württemberg und Baden. Sachsen wurde in der vulkanischen AG-Werft in Stettin gebaut. Sie wurde im April 1875 niedergelegt, am 21. Juli 1877 ins Leben gerufen und am 21. Oktober 1878 in Auftrag gegeben. Das Schiff war mit einer Hauptbatterie von sechs 26 cm (10,2") Pistolen in einzelnen offenen Halterungen bewaffnet.
