St Mark's Church was designed by Henry Wilson and built between 1895 and 1898. As an outstanding example of Arts and Crafts architecture in Wales, it is a Grade 1 listed building. The building is presently disused as a church although open to visitors. According to the Friends of Friendless Churches, the font, with its naturalistic details depicting wavy vegetation "was conceived by Wilson, modelled by Arthur grove and made by the Central School of Art in London".
