Eine Mumie mit einer goldenen Maske aus dem alten Ägypten ist auf Anzeige während einer Ausstellung namens "das Land der Pharaonen" an der Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuh
A mummy with a gold mask from ancient Egypt is on display during an exhibition called "The Land of the Pharaohs" at the Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan city, central Chinaäs Hubei province, 11 November 2018. The ancient Egyptian cultural relics exhibition "The Land of the Pharaohs" kicked off on October 2 at the Hubei Provincial Museum. The 180 exhibits (sets of exhibits) are from Italian museums such as the Egyptian Museum of Florence and the Rovigo Institute, which specialize in Egyptian archaeological research. Focusing on religion and art, the exhibition involves cultural relics of the Egyptian history from prehistoric times to the Greco-Roman period. The significant items on display include a 179-centimeter-tall male mummy from GrecoRoman period (about 0-200 A.D.) which was wrapped with straps to form complicated diamond patterns. The goldplated mask indicates his noble status. Other parts of his body are painted with pictures showing the dead offering sacrifices to the gods. It is explained that the ancient Egyptians believed that the color of gold is the skin color of the gods, and they used the gold mask to produce a perfect face of eternity in making mummies of the pharaohs and nobles. The exhibition will last till January 2019.
