A complex of nebulas in Centaurus and Carina in the southernmost portion of the Milky Way. The nebula at bottom is IC 2948, aka the Running Chicken Nebula, with the embedded star cluster IC 2944, aka the Lambda Centauri Cluster. The head of the Chicken is the round nebula Gum 39. Above the Running Chicken Nebula and Gum 39 is the pair of small red and magenta nebulas NGC 3603 and NGC 3579. The main nebula above centre is the Carina Nebula, NGC 3372, with the smaller NGC 3324 nebula as a knot on its top or western edge. Above it is the small deep red nebula, NGC 3247. At upper right is the small light pink arc of the Southern Crescent Nebula, NGC 3199. The bright blue star cluster at right is the Southern Pleiades, IC 2602; The fainter but rich star cluster left of the Carina Nebula is NGC 3532, the Football or Black Arrow Cluster.
