But Apple may have found a way to help offset some of that concern. Apple shares slipped Tuesday following a report in a state-owned Chinese newspaper that it may have to wait until 2015 to launch the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in that country, pending government approvals. China was notably absent from the list of countries for the initial launch this Friday (19 September 2014). Nor was it included in a list of 22 countries slated for the next release phase on Sept. 26, which Apple disclosed Monday when it announced record presales of the new phones. China is a major market for the iPhone. But it is worth noting that Apple has committed to have the new devices in 115 countries by the end of the calendar year. That is more than the 100 rolled out in the same period for the 5S, which did include China.
