--FILE--A moviegoer walks past a poster for the movie, Old Boys: The Way of the Dragon, at a cinema in Yichang city, central Chinas Hubei province, 14 July 2014. Ke Liming, the 32-year-old producer of Chinese box office hits Old Boys, So Young and Tiny Times 3, insists that he has not "gotten rich overnight" after his company was acquired by a Shanghai-listed investment firm for 1.5 billion yuan (US$245 million). Despite a net profit of just 780, 000 yuan (US$127, 000) last year and 17.6 million (US$2.87 million) in the first half of 2014 on the back of a string of successful film releases, Mtime, a company run by Ke and his older brother, was acquired by Shanghai Zhongji Investment Holding based on its future earning potential, including an estimated net profit of 130 million yuan (US$21.2 million) next year. Mtime was responsible for three major box office hits in 2013. So Young, the directorial debut of popular actress Vicki Zhao, took about 720 million yuan (US$117 million) on the mainland on a budget of just 60 million yuan (US$9.8 million). Old Boys: The Way of the Dragon, the feature version of a viral 42-minute film first released in 2010, had a budget of about 30 million yuan (US$5 million) but took more than 200 million yuan (US$33 million). Tiny Times 3, the third entry in the romantic drama series about a group of young urbanites, also made nearly 600 million (US$98 million). Many are surprised to learn that despite being a successful film producer and industry pioneer, Ke is just 32 years old and was previously a hedge fund analyst.
