Former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji has made a rare public appearance with a videotaped speech that will accompany the launch of his book in the United States. Zhu delivered the brief speech at a launch ceremony for the English edition of Zhu Rongji on the Record: The Road to Reform 1991-1997, which is to go on sale in the US this month. Zhu looked good and spoke in English on the video which was made two weeks ago, sources who provided the video said. The four-volume Chinese edition of Zhu Rongji on the Record was published in 2011. It is a collection of speeches, articles, letters and instructions from Zhu during his tenure as vice premier of China from 1991 to 1997. Until now, it has sold 1.3 million copies in China.
