Cw 8631 66504 Culvert Lane LC 6Y53 18.3.2024 Freight liner diesel locomotive 66504 trundles slowly towards Culvert Lane level crossing between Parbold and Hoscar with a train of empty wagons that will be loaded with removed old ballast. The train is running on the up line, Southport to Wigan as the down line is being relayed. The train left Crewe Basford Hall at 06.10 this morning and is arriving here at 09.30 hrs running under head code or train reporting number 6Y53. The railway between Southport and Wigan is closed for the week from 18.3.2024 to 22.3.2024 with passenger services being replaced by rail replacement buses. Beyond the locomotive are the two church spires of Our Lady and All Saints RC Church and a bit further away, Christ Church, Douglas - in – Parbold.
