The Mayor’s Newham Show took place in Central Park in the East London Borough of East Ham on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of July 2006. The event was a great example of how multicultural and multiracial London is today, a good tempered mix of people just enjoying themselves in the summer sunshine. But for me it was marred by a high profile heavy police presence which may have been necessary, a sign of the times we live in no doubt, although all I saw were normal people of all ages having a good time. This image was taken on the Sunday which was a hot day with plenty of sunshine.
