The gauze-wrapped girl student was soon moved away by workers after she displayed herself as an artwork to show support for Deng Yujiao outside an office building where a seminar on studying Dengs case was being held on Sunday (24 May 2009) in Beijing. Deng Yujiao, 21, stabbed Deng Guida, 44, the director of the business promotion office in Yesanguan town, Badong county, central Chinas Hubei province when he demanded sex in a hotel spa in the county of Badong. The hotel is suspected of providing sex services and the manager has been summoned, officials say. Many Chinese websites have praised Deng Yujiao for fighting injustice and posted poems and songs in her support. The strong public interest in the case prompted the local government in Badong to post a statement online promising a fair hearing. The local authorities also set up set up an information centre relating to the case. The China Daily website said Deng Guida cornered the waitress in the spa area of the hotel and demanded sex. When she refused, Deng Guida allegedly forced her down on a sofa. After some struggle, she pulled out a fruit knife from her bag and stabbed him. Deng Guida died later on the way to hospital. Chinese police said Deng Yujiao had turned herself in on 10 May.
