--FILE--Visitors watch demonstrations of DJI drones during an expo in Beijing, China, 23 April 2016. China's consumer drone market is getting crowded as a number of startups try to challenge the dominance of Dajiang Innovation(DJI), which is estimated to account for 70% of the drone market in 2015. But despite releases of unique and low-cost product lines, industry experts remain dubious whether or not up-and-coming drone companies will be able to gain a significant foothold in an increasingly complex industry. The latest player that is making a model different from DJI's four-propeller drones is Zero Zero Robotics, a two-year-old Beijing startup so far with $25 million in total funding. The company launched its Hover Camera in April, a pocket-sized drone weighing only half a pound that can track its controller and take his pictures using facial recognition technologies. The gadget, to be priced below $600, joins the low-cost product lines of Chinese startups like Ehang and Xiro in targeting consumers interested in recreational uses of drones like personal photography. The gadgets herald intensified competition in China's recreational drone market but their overall impact on DJI will be limited, says IDC research manager Jean Xiao.
