Besucher Pose auf einem Modell der Shikumen, der von einem riesigen Spiegel in einem Winkel von 45 Grad aufgestellt, die Illusion, dass Sie p widerspiegelt
Visitors pose on a model of Shikumen building, which is reflected by a huge mirror erected at a 45-degree angle, creating the illusion that they are performing gravity-defying stunts during an exhibition by Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich at the JingAn Kerry Center, Shanghai, China, 18 November 2013. An exhibition by an Argentine artist in Shanghai is giving locals the chance to see themselves floating in the air and climbing walls. This work is made of a huge mirror and a model building in the background. It lets visitors see their reflected selves performing stunts such as floating in the air and climbing a wall even though they are actually lying on the floor. The Argentine installation artist Leandro Erlich first introduced this work in Paris in 2004, and then brought it to other countries like Japan and Britain. In each place, he would use local architecture as the background to make it more relevant to the local audience. Here, he used a Shikumen building. It is very cool. It definitely gives more the life of the city. They bring like the old land house of our traditional Shanghai architecture. So it is more culture of Shanghai. The artist says he hopes to inspire visitors to think while they are having fun. The exhibition will be on display until November 22nd. It is part of an Argentinian cultural event that will also include some dance and drama performances in the next few days.
