Asda Wee Willie Winkies, News Release | April 2019 WEE WILLIE WINKIE’S CELEBRATE NATIONAL LISTING New exclusive national deal sees Scottish kids’ sausages available in 28 English stores Additional 100, 000 mini skinless pork sausages produced a week Hall’s of Scotland is celebrating after securing an exclusive national deal with Asda to stock its famous Wee Willie Winkie’s kids’ sausages across 28 English stores, with a 6-figure annual contract value. This is the first national listing for the children’s sausage range, which is currently available in 60 Asda stores across Scotland. The new deal will see an additional 100, 000 Wee Willie Winkie sausages produced a week, bringing the total weekly production to over one million. Retailing at just £1, the mini pork skinless sausages are currently Scotland’s number one range for kids, offering an affordable, convenient, but still a delicious solution for kids and parents alike at dinner time. Originally inspired by a nursery rhyme, Hall’s has been producing the Wee Willie Winkie sausages at their Prestwick factory since 2008. The brand, based on the nursery rhyme about Wee Willie Winkie, who ran through the streets of Edinburgh’s Old Town in the middle of the night, now makes over 52 million sausages annually. Hall’s of Scotland has had a strong presence in Asda for the last 30 years, with 28 products available in Asda stores across the chilled and ready meal categories.
