Front angle view of the special ambulance version of the automobile GAZ-13S in the exhibition hall “Made in USSR” in the Museum of Vehicles of Vadim Zadorozhny. The ambulance vehicle was made on the basis of the serial "Chaika" (The Seagull) as an estate car for the needs of the 4th Main Department of Public Health, the Government Garage (GON) and the Ministry of Defense. The low-volume production was realized on the Latvian plant RAF from 1973 to 1982. "Chaikas" in the body of the "station wagon" were also produced by Sachsenring Automobilwerke in Zwickau, German Democratic Republic (GDR). Only two of these German cars were a variant of the GAS-T13 Tschalkt Ambulanz, that is, cars of the "first aid".
