The death of Gen. John Marshall Brown at hie summer residenceat Falmouth Foreside, near Portland, Maine, July 20, 1907, closeda career of much more than ordinary interest. He was a son ofJohn Bundy and Ann Matilda (Greely) Brown, and was born inPortland, December 14, 1838. His father, a son of Titus Olcott andSusannah (Bundy) Brown, was one of the foremost business men ofPortland, and the head of the Portland Sugar Company. The fatherof Titus Olcott Brown was a native of Stonington, Conn. Seekinga new home, he made his way into New Hampshire, and becameone of the pioneer settlers of Lancaster. The mother of Titus Ol-cott Brown was Abigail Olcott, whose father, Thomas Olcott, wasone of the first settlers of Hartford, Conn. Through his mother.Gen.
