08 Nov 2003 South Korea - Seoul Australian house dj Mr. John Course visit in South Korea's party in Seoul on 08, november, 2003. Mr. John Course, he has been a leading DJ and figure in Australian dance music for over 16 years and, at some time or another has DJ¯d at most of Melbourne¯s clubs and parties and many interstate ones as well. During the late 80¯s and early 90¯s John was mainly associated with the very successful period of the Chevron nightclub where he was somewhat immovable as the resident DJ 3 or 4 nights a week including Sanction on Tuesdays and the massive Insanity on Saturdays. During this period he also won the DMC Mixing Competition in Victoria twice (1988 & 1989) and also played at Chasers, one of Melbourne¯s first clubs to embrace the emerging house music sound. He built a solid reputation for getting the house rocking with a wide variety of dance music, being one of the first to introduce the sounds of House to Melbourne. In 1998 John played outside of Australia for the first time, in the UK and Italy. Outer suburban clubs such as 21st Century, Jooce and Voodoo Lounge have also been regular hosts to John¯s DJing ability as he has proven to be one of the few DJ¯s who has both a ®club¯ sensibility and a ®commercial¯ sensibility. Picking up on new tracks that have what it takes to cross over to a commercial market and pushing them in these mainstream clubs is something that has also helped Vicious, the record label that John co-owns with DJ Andy Van and Colin Daniels. He has, as you would expect for somebody who has been behind the decks for so many years, supported and played alongside many international DJ¯s, recently including Roger Sanchez, Derrick Carter, Cassius, DJ Sneak, ATFC, DJ Falcon, Richard F, David Morales, Harry Choo Choo and Felix Da Housecat. He also played the main stage at Melbourne¯s massive Summerdayze party on New Years Day 2002 & 2003. Vicious Vinyl¯s first release way back in 1990 was Groovematic's °Witness T
